Sitting alongside—or located in close proximity to—some of the area’s most spectacular lakes are Florida’s most desirable communities. This includes Grayton Beach, Regatta Bay, Rocky Bayou, Seacrest Beach, Valparaiso, and more. As part of a Lake Views community, residents can enjoy the vast number of activities that lakefront living can provide, such as camping, boating, fishing, and kayaking. Explore Real Estate in Lake Views Communities

The Lake Views communities are spread all along the Florida coast, and therefore each one offers residents something a little bit different. This applies to the real estate market as well. With homes found in a range of price points and styles, there’s something for everyone’s particular budget and taste!

In general, the most bustling urban areas, such as Panama City Beach, have a wider range of property types: both single-family homes and condominiums/townhomes for sale. In contrast, the real estate market in the lakeside community of Valparaiso is primarily single-family homes, with the occasional vacant lot for sale.

Architectural style, as well, varies significantly—even across each community. You’ll find homes built in Florida Coastal beach styles, usually categorized by light-colored wood beams, siding, generous porches, stilts (if applicable), and second-level balconies. On the other hand, you will also find a large number of homes built in a Mediterranean style, with white stucco exteriors, large archways, and red tile roofs.

However, there are still a plethora of homes that are architecturally unique, taking inspiration from modern and traditional styles and mixing them together, or just implementing a style that is more unique to the area. Grayton Beach, as an example, has many developers building luxury estates and townhomes in the Bermuda style, as well as a multitude of other designs that borrow heavily from European architecture.

When searching for your dream home in a Lake Views community, keep in mind that each community will have its own unique atmosphere. There truly is something for everyone out there!

Discover Life In Lake Views Communities

Florida Gulf Coast living is desirable for its laid-back lifestyle and beautiful beaches. Lake Views communities add a whole other dimension to living on the Emerald Coast! As mentioned before, each lakefront area allows for unique experiences, but the biggest draw remains the number of activities one can do in and around the lake.

Valparaiso, a small city located on Choctawhatchee Bay, has a multitude of green spaces and parks along the lake. Residents and visitors can rent boats or have a picnic at Postl Point, while Turkey Creek Park offers nature walks and some swimming spots. Just a stone’s throw away is Rocky Bayou, known specifically for the Rocky Bayou State Park Aquatic Preserve. With creeks, rivers, and nature areas dotted along the lake, you can experience the best of Florida’s dense forest and exciting wildlife.

Boating, fishing, and swimming are all popular lake activities. Regatta Bay, on the other side of Choctawhatchee Bay, has numerous lakes around the community’s golf course, and is also home to the Legendary Boating Club. It’s quick and easy to take your boat out onto the water—and on much calmer water than the Gulf of Mexico.

When it comes to outdoor recreation, the Lake Views communities have a lot to offer. Check out our blog post about one of the area favorites, Grayton Beach State Park.

Of course, there are a few Lake Views communities that are conveniently located on the coast and the lake. There are plenty of things to do at Panama City Beach, which touches both West Bay and Powell Lake. Located here are a number of yacht clubs and fishing charters, providing ample opportunities for those who enjoy these recreational activities.

But this community, like every other Lake Views community, offers more than just this. Panama City Beach is also home to Shipwreck Island Waterpark, with ZooWorld Zoological Park and Race City amusement park being a short trip away, too.
